Education institutions Universities, schools, vocational institutes and English language colleges offer scholarships for international students. When you are researching the best institution for your goals, find out if it also offers a scholarship. A database of postgraduate scholarships at Australian universities can be found online at www.jason.edu.au. Scholarships by organisations Private organisations and international foundations also offer scholarships to international students. You should investigate which organisations in your home countr y offer scholarships. Some universities also provide exchange programs. australia has a focus on helping the asia-pacific region to build lasting links between students, schools and countries. Organisations that have provided scholarships to international students in the past include: Rotary International, Toyota Foundation, Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program, the Council for Australian–Arab Relations and the Asian Development Bank, just to name a few. The Australian– American Fulbright Association offers postgraduate scholarships for Americans to study in Australia. Applying for a scholarship Before you start the application process, read the scholarship requirements carefully and make sure you are eligible. Follow the guidelines so you can provide all of the correct information. You may need to include certified copies of your birth certificate or passport, qualifications and academic transcripts. Some applications require referee letters. Unless you are applying for an English language course, your application will need proof of an English language proficiency test. Each scholarship program has different priorities, application and selection processes. Most scholarships will only have one closing date each year.
