Many members of faculty and staff, predominantly Australian, were born overseas, coming from 20 countries. They speak several languages. The marketing team is comprised mainly of people from overseas who first came to Australia to study. This background and sensitivity to cultural differences, needs and expectations, make them very well-placed to understand and assist students from overseas. They know the issues and how best to address them. And they care. Regular international travel and participation in organisations set up to promote a better understanding of international developments and trends, strengthens Academies Australasia’s position in the international education sector. At any one time, students are from about 50 countries. This broad international mix gives them exposure to different nationalities and cultures. Apart from learning about and enjoying living in Australia, they have the opportunity to learn about many other countries. Academies Australasia graduates Academies Australasia graduates have found success in a wide range of professions and businesses. While most Academies Australasia students return home, many have fallen in love in Australia – with their partners and/or the country – and applied for permanent residence. Many are now citizens. ■ Find out more: Level 6, 505 George Street, Sydney, NSW 2000, Australia tel: +61 2 9224 5500 Fax: +61 2 9224 5550 Web: www.aca .nsw.edu.au 51 Middle Road, Singapore, 188959 tel: +65 6337 9949 Fax: +65 6336 5955 Web: www.aca .edu.sg ‘Academies Australasia graduates have found success in a wide range of professions and businesses.’
