The Education Destination : Australia The Education Destination 2011
Australia – The Education Destination 83 ausTralIan colleGe of applIed educaTIon, WesTern ausTralIa To incorporate these new courses it had to expand and rebrand. The Australian College of Applied Education (ACAE) located in Perth’s CBD was born. The college incorporates three schools: The Australian School of Business & Management (ASBM), The Australian School of Tourism & Hotel Management (ASTHM) and the Australian School of Culinary Arts (ASCA) with strong links to industry and every student will receive a work placement during their course. This on-the-job experience gives our students the edge above graduates from universities and other vocational training providers. The new Business & Management School offers six month certificate IV and diploma courses in business or management. These courses have articulation pathways to a degree with advanced standing into a Bachelor of Business. The Tourism & Hotel Management School has three one-year diplomas to choose from: Hospitality, Events or Tourism. The courses are a mix of practical and theory and we organise you a work placement in a hotel, restaurant or tourism. The School of Culinary Arts is focused on developing high performing chefs and pastry chefs. All students receive a placement in a restaurant where they will learn from chefs in the industry. Our alumni include Byron Wright, now the Director of Food and Beverage at the Sofitel Macau and Mark Simmons who was a contestant on television show ‘Top Chef ’ in the US. Mark is now the owner of Brooklyn restaurant ‘Melt’ in New York. If you are looking for a course that is going to offer you more than just a piece of paper, then contact ACAE today. ■ GeT closer To your career email firstname.lastname@example.org, phone +618 9322 3202 or www.acae.edu.au The edge with industry training after 21 years of excellence in applied education the australian school of Tourism & hotel Management (asThM) expanded the list of courses to include Business & Management.
