From then on, I was “hooked”. I returned to Western Australia to carry out my master’s research project and subsequently enrolled in a joint double- badged PhD degree between the University of Montpellier 2 and The University of Western Australia. Wealth of opportunities French student, Jérôme Mardon, came to Australia for a student exchange year and he was ‘hooked’. Jérôme returned to undertake a PhD in ecology and evolution. ‘ The bilateral nature of my studies was instrumental to my success.
